Philanthropy Events

Anchor Splash:

Anchor Splash is our largest fundraising event that we host to raise money for our philanthropy. Anchor Splash is a competition in which sororities, fraternities, service clubs, sports teams, and campus interest groups compete in relays, synchronized swimming, and other swimming events. We host a week of events to build hype and allow teams to gain points towards Anchor Splash before the event begins. This is one of the most popular and well-attended Delta Gamma events that raises the most donations for our philanthropy: Service for Sight. Our VISION is to greatly impact the lives of people who are blind or visually impaired as well as raise money from our fundraising events to assist organizations that share our Service for Sight mission.

Anchor Games:

Anchor Games is an Olympic-style field day event that raises money for The Delta Gamma Foundation. Participating teams will compete in several games in a bracket-style tournament to gain points. The team with the most points will receive 100 dollars towards their organization's philanthropy or philanthropy of choice.

Delta G & Puppies:

Delta G & Puppies is held on the library lawn in collaboration with the Topaz Assistance Dogs. Families with registered service dogs bring their furry friends to campus where student and staff can donate to play with the animals for an unlimited amount of time.

Monster 5k Run:

In 2019, Theta Zeta volunteered at a Halloween themed 5K where the proceeds went to the Lion’s Eye Clinic in Bonita Springs. We met many Delta Gamma Alumnae and had the pleasure of volunteering alongside them. Some of our volunteer duties included; setting up food tables, judging a costume contest, setting up the music, and handing out t-shirts. We were able to bond with our sisters and while switching positions, we met many amazing people.

Blindness Sensitivity Training:

On February 24th, 2019,  the Lighthouse of Collier collaborated with our chapter to hold an event that taught our sisters about our philanthropy Service for Sight. There were different stations and our sisters learned the basics including how to read and write in braille. The Lighthouse also had employees show some of the girls how to properly walk with a white cane and how to offer assistance to someone who is visually impaired. Lastly, one of the employees who is visually impaired himself, showed the girls how he has adapted to this life and how he counts money and uses his phone and computer without a problem.

Fashion Show:

The Delta Gamma alumni host a fashion show to raise donations and awareness for Service for Sight. A couple of Theta Zeta’s sisters attended and participated in the show where they modeled for fellow sisters who bought tickets to the luncheon and show. All proceeds from the event benefit the lighthouse organization along with service for sight.

Proceeds Nights:

Throughout every semester, we host proceeds nights at local restaurants in order to raise money for The Delta Gamma Foundation. This money is also used to help us host our signature philanthropy events. We have had proceeds nights at restaurants like Poke Fusion, California Pizza Kitchen, Bahia Bowls, and many more!

Guide Dog Informational:

During our signature philanthropy week, our chapter hosts "lead in events" throughout the week before our main event. One of our lead in events is a guide dog informational open to anyone. In the past, we have had organizations such as Southeastern Guide Dogs and Florida Lion's Eye Clinic come and teach us about living with an eye sight disability.

Beach Clean Ups:

Our chapter has hosted many beach clean ups. We have also collaborated with our brother fraternity, Phi Delta Theta, to plan some. Sisters often carpool to the designated beach, and after doing good by cleaning the beach, sisters will often have a beach day!

Eye Glasses Sorting:

Our chapter volunteered at the local Lion's Eye Clinic to sort reading and prescription glasses. We work with Lion's Eye Clinic year round by volunteering with them, and some of our sisters even work in their offices!
